Black Swan
A New York City ballet company is preparing for the production of Swan Lake, which tells the story of an innocent, fragile White Swan who falls in love with a Prince. However, the White Swan's evil twin, the sensual, devious Black Swan, seduces the Prince. As a result, the White Swan commits suicide and in death, finds freedom from the Black Swan.
One night, during an argument between Nina and her mother, Lily appears at their door and offers to take Nina out for dinner in an attempt to dilute the tension between them. Nina agrees, mostly out of spite for her mother. Lily offers Nina ecstasy, and Nina reluctantly accepts. Lily and Nina then return to Nina's mother's apartment where Nina and her mother argue bitterly. Her mother slapped her out of anger so Nina furiously drags Lily into her room, where they also have sex.
Nina dances the Black Swan passionately and sensually, having successfully let go of her innocence and inhibitions. She imagines herself growing feathers all over her body as she dances, enhancing her performance further. The audience applauds her performance fervently. She returns to her dressing room, seeing a pool of blood under the bathroom door, and begins changing into her White Swan costume for the final act.
